One Quick Question...

....how on earth do you guys store your makeup?

My collection has been vastly growing these past months (heh, makeup blogging) and I need a new storage solution. I'm currently shopping around, but I just wanted to know how you guys get the job done, or suggest storage solutions to me!

  1. My makeup collection has been exploding as well... its absolutely ridiculous. I'm using something like this here but no where near as expensive as this D: I'm probably going to go to a second cabinet now...my mom is like flipping out XD

    1. DON'T LAUGH AT ME BUT, I've been looking at the smaller, 'table-sized' ones to put on my desk, but I didn't think to buy a larger full sized, free standing one omg. But not gonna lie, most of the ones I see are tacky :(

If my mom saw how much makeup I had too, I think she'd also flip out :(

    2. Oh Silly Vanessa! XD Its definitely tacky as anything, but I'd rather spend extra money on buying makeup then buying nicer storage units. That's how I justify it XD

Dude though, like I have enough makeup to last me awhile...like I am probably good for 5 years.... not even joking. I don't feel too bad though cause there are very few products I don't use in my collection.

    3. UGH THAT IS ALSO VERY TRUE. ;-;

Yeah same, I try not to have stuff in my collection I don't use--thank god Sephora has a generous return policy ._.

  2. I use plastic office supply organizers to store my makeup. I also have a nice toolbox that works well. It's really up to you! do you want something portable, easily accessible, or something else?

    1. I've also been looking at office supply organizers, but another problem is finding a place to put them...gah, there's so many options!

But some of the office supply organizers are ridiculously cute and simple for storage, so I'll probably shop around in that department. Thanks!

  3. My collection is going insane too. T__T Argh! I'm currently using my desk drawers - jamming stuff in all the cupboards I have, lol. So messy and unorganized, it's driving me crazy.

Need to go to Ikea or something and buy some boxes! or shelves. or another room.

    1. I used to stuff my makeup into my undershirt drawers (LOL...) but now there's no more room for makeup and now all my makeup is on my desk and it's a hot mess, haha.

      !!! I should go to Target/Ikea too actually :D
Wouldn't it be nice to build another room, Sims style? ._.

  4. My boyfriend gave me a makeup vanity for Christmas <3 It is perfect for storing makeup! I'll probably post a few pics soon of storage ideas. I tend to separate my makeup by brand (your moms would completely freak out if they saw what I own!) :P xo Kelly http://chicnstylishblog.blogspot.com/

    1. So lucky! (Your boyfriend's a keeper L O L)

That's also a great way of storing makeup, and realising what your favourite brands are!

      PICS PLZ ;)

  5. Right now, I've got 3 make up bags bursting with make up, and I'm finding it really difficult to find anything since they're just every where! But I also don't have the courage to throw anything out. I've been looking into a desk top dresser with drawers and compartments xx

    1. Ugh, makeup problems :(

"IT WAS ONLY A BLUSHER, HOW DID IT END UP LIKE THIS

I completely butchered the Killer's 'Mr. Brightside'....

But man, searching for a decent, aesthetically pleasing storage solution is difficult :(

  6. I know a lot of people use these drawers from the Container Store because they are stackable and you can see what's inside! http://www.containerstore.com/shop/storage/drawers?productId=10019532&N=62561&Nao=20

    1. I love the Container Store and the item you linked! Unfortunately, I live in Canada, and apparently it would cost me $50 in total to have that shipped to Canada--yikes!

I'll probably end up shopping at Ikea/Target/Walmart, but thank you for the link!

  7. I have fallen in love with muji, not the most original in the beauty world (!) but nonetheless very pretty (I didn't k=actually know clear acrylic storage could be so appealing haha)
That being said I also have a few smaller boxes in a drawer to house the rest of my ever growing collection, muji is quite a splurge so could be a while yet before I get enough boxes to house the whole lot o_0

    1. Hehehehe, I had to google 'muji', and dang that is expensive ._.
Yeah, clear acrylic storage is nice because you get to see where everything is, but you know your items won't get dusty!

  10. My collection has grown so much since I started blogging, too! I keep small things like brushes and samples in old candle jars. Anything else I use boxes or lay them out on top of my dresser. ^_^

    1. Ooou, I've never thought of old candle jars as storage, but they are actually great because they're glass!

      Thanks! :D

  11. I've got a desk that I use as a desk and a dressing table, and in the drawers I use cultery trays to keep everything organised! it was the cheapest method for me :)

and for brushes, tweezers etc I use old jam jars :)

    1. Cutlery trays are smart! I would do the same but my dressing table is full of clothes :(

Yeah, I love old jars for storing things such as eyeliners!

      Thanks! c:
