Chanel Intonation {MPB #3}

Well folks, another month has gone by, and while I'm in the "BRACE YOURSELVES, THE FEBRUARY FAVOURITE POSTS ARE HERE" mode, I'm also ecstatic because it's MONTHLY BLUSH PURCHASE TIME!! AND SWEET HEAVENS REJOICE, FOR I HAVE FINALLY PICKED UP THE CHANEL SPRING BLUSH THAT I HAVE LUSTED FOR SINCE JANUARY.

(I apologise in advance for the...extensive...number of photos in this post. I, uh, kinda got carried away.
IT'S JUST SO BEAUTIFUL! -sheds tear-)

__________________________________________________________

Alright, enough of whatever that was happening up there ^

Chanel Intonation is a matte, cream to powder coral pink blush from their Spring 2014 line.

And holy gajeebus, this blush is definitely worth $43 CDN ($38 USD)....AND THAT'S NOT SOMETHING I SAY OFTEN WITH MY HIGH END PRODUCTS. I feel like a rabid fangirl when I say this is the perhaps the best blush in my collection...WHAT THE WHAT?? Intensely pigmented, stays vivid on my face ALL DAY LONG, and the colour itself is sooo gorgeous and perfect for spring! (AND, Jenn from A Beautiful Zen was admiring it on my face this past weekend, so you know the shade is a winner!)

The only issue I have with it is that it can be a bit difficult to blend because it is so pigmented (it's a double-edged sword), and like all other cream blushes, it will mess up your foundation/concealer underneath (spotty people, beware!). But other than that, I'm living in pink coral bliss. ʘ‿ʘ

What's the best blush formulation you'd tried so far? Ever try a Chanel blush? ʘ‿ʘ

(Oh P.S., I forgot to include this photo, but I used foil to redirect light for the first time and it was friggen hilarious to me

  1. But your pictures are so gorgeous! (I saw the first one on my feed and immediately thought "must be Vanessa"...) I thought the blush looked SUPER RED in the pact but on skin it's actually such a perfect spring-y colour.

Also it took me a good five minutes to figure out what was happening in the last picture because the mirror makes it look like there's blush in both sides of the pact. ><...

Yeah, it actually looks pretty red in real life, but it actually comes off pretty pink-coral irl.

Yeah, I think yesterday was the first time I realised in real life that the same blush looks different on different people....VANESSALOGIC. (My mom says I can pull off a lot of shades because I'm so pale???)
WELL, YOU KNOW YOU'LL EVENTUALLY NEED A CHANEL BLUSH, RIGHT? :D

  4. Holy gorgeous color! I'm all about cream blush at the moment so this is very tempting! Good thing I have strong willpower >O< Love the BTS shot lol. I usually use a reflector disk but I've definitely done the foil thing before.

UGH, reflector disk sounds so fancy! This was my first attempt at using foil, might have to check out prices for reflector disks!

  5. Gorgeous!! :) You've just started a lemming for CHANEL blushes and considering I'm on a CHANEL ban since my last haul... That colour though. Beautiful. Just, no. CHANEL makes beautiful products and this product is yet another proof of that.

I'm going to keep this product in mind the next time Shoppers or Holt Renfrew have something interesting going on. Gotta make that kind of purchases count :P

  10. It looks sooo pretty! I'v been seeing lots of swatches of their cream blushes and its been so highly recommended. I've not really dabbled into cream blushes at all but I'd still love to pick up something from chanel soon! That shade looks great on you, such a great flush and it looks so easy to blend in!

Er, I've only tried using the foil once (for this post), and it was ok. I think it really depends on how big the products are though, as smaller products would probably benefit the most with foil (reducing shadows). I am working on testing other reflectors though!

  12. Ugh, this blush is gorgeous! I'm debating on whether or not to pick up a Nars blush or the Chanel cream blushes and this kind of tips the scales a bit.

It's just something I can never get enough of and I'm sure you're the same too! huehuehue :P

  19. i thought it includes a set of ivory rose earrings! so clever of you to include them on the shot. it looks like something people would hang at a makeup blush museum... that you'll probably invent someday lol :D :D ive tried these at the counter im thinking of maybe getting the lightest pink shade cause the texture is amazing, but idk if i really like cream blushes, any signs of oiliness in time? btw you can also stick the foil paper on a board to make it stiff :)

I don't know about oiliness since my skin is still in winter dry mode, but apparently Chanel's cream blushes are the best cream blushes??? (IDK IDK)(Knowing Chanel though, there's probably minimal oiliness in time, hah)

Btw like I said above, give me tips on great lighting for all times of the day so I don't have to wake up early in the morning to shoot kthnx. ;)

  27. wow, that is crazy beautiful! but also crazy expensive. to me. for a blush. anyways. haha. sorry for all the full stops. I have rosacea on my cheeks so I try to put as little make up (or none) as possible; something I am not particularly happy with because blushes are aaaamaazing.. but you know, it's just the way it is. Anywho, back to my point.. that is why I don't want to spend too much money on blushes. The most I have spend on one so far.. was 30 euros (and now that I think of it.. that's expensive too).
