Coral Cheeks Make Me Feel Like A Fancy Lady

CORALS? FOR SPRING? GROUNDBREAKING.

I doubt there's any other blush shade out there that makes me feel as ~fancy~ and ~ladylike~as pink coral.
A pop of bright coral on the cheeks + oversized floral earrings = has me ~Spongebob-esque~ 'ready' for spring...even though it literally snowed earlier this week in Canada. (What the even??!?!?)

Anyways, with the influx of coral blushes I've been picking up and rediscovering in my stash, I thought I'd share some spring fever!

Clinique (Cheek Pop) 'Peach Pop' - Oh sweet mother of unicorn horns, this BLUSH IS SO FRIGGIN' PRETTY. The embossing/daisy design IS ADORABLE AND I NEVER WANT TO USE THIS BLUSH ;-;. As for the colour itself, it's a beautiful soft peachy-pink and perfect if you're afraid of dabbling into the bolder corals!

Look Beauty (Fresh Cheeks) 'Guava' - Here's a brand I rarely hear about! 'Guava' (heheheh, 'Guava' ;)) is actually quite a bright pink on the cheeks. It lasts surprisingly well for a cream blush, and stays fairly vivid on my dry winter skin 6+ hours.

Topshop (cream blush) 'Flushed' - a recent addition to my collection, and my first Topshop makeup! While it looks quite scary in the pan, it's actually a bit sheer, which I won't complain about because it makes for easy buildup to a brighter shade. I've also heard that this is a universally flattering shade, so excuse me while I go smear this on my brother to make him b00tiful.

Dior (Trianon Edition) 'Corail Bagatelle' - I won't go into details about this one, since I've already got a review up, but this pale coral makes me feel like a fancy french aristocrat and I'm all 'bout dat lyfe. ʘ‿ʘ

MUA (1D) 'Rose Riot' - OK SO I CHEATED. This shade is more of a rose, but dang, it's still gorgeous! Massively pigmented and only £3 at Superdrug!

Tarte 'Crave' (first shade in palette) - Unfortunately, this shade was an exclusive shade for this palette, but Amazonian Clay formula for a warm-toned pink coral? Yes, please!

Chanel 'Intonation' - A coral cream blush that leans more red (the review here), and if you're set on buying only one cream blush...ever, one of Chanel's is all you really need!!
___________________________________________________________________

Oh look, 50 shades of coral. (Holy crack on a cracker they all look alike o_o)

L-R: Dior 'Corail Bagatelle', Clinique 'Peach Pop', Tarte 'Crave', Look Beauty 'Guava', MUA 'Rose Riot', Topshop 'Flushed', Chanel 'Intonation'
___________________________________________________________________

What shades are you excited to wear in the Spring? And recommended corals I need to check out?  ʘ‿ʘ

(Not gonna lie, when I was walking around my house to find ~spring~ inspiration, I was surprised by how many fake flowers I had ._.)

  1. im so happy that more brands are starting to get into embossed details! and speaking of embossed details have you seen the burberry blushes? ive been researching and so far good reviews on the quality. the colors tho are pretty normal. hope they are included in the nordstrom anniv sale.

btw have you tried nars orgasm blush? :)

  2. I completely regret opening this post. Seriously I do. I now have 50 more blushes on the wishlist, and I'm supposed to be on a ban (Vanessa, you're really not helping here :D) I've said this over and over again but that Cheek pop will be mine... eventually haha! And, seeing your pic of the Tarte palette makes me want to kick myself for not picking it up when they had it.

Well, the Cheek Pop is permanent, so you have some time! HA. I am obsessed with limited edition items, so I knew I had to grab Tarte fast!

  3. I've been drooling over new blushes these days. I recently bought the Tarte Cheek Stain in "Blissful" which is a peachy shade. I've always wanted to try Topshop cosmetics though! I might have to cave in and grab one of the cream blushes next time. The swatches all look very similar, but you can never have enough of a good thing, right? :P

  4. The shade 'Crave' from Tarte is one of my favourites out of that palette as well! I've never looked into Topshop makeup as I'm unsure of how they perform, but the cream blush looks great! Also, I've been drooling over the pretty Clinique Cheek Pop blushes for a while. Is that the only shade from the collection you have? What other shade would you recommend? :D

    1. I love all the shades in that palette besides the super light pink one! I've heard that their lipsticks perform pretty well; I've swatched a few myself and they're pretty creamy!
It's the only shade from the collection I have....right now ;)
I do have my eyes on ginger pop though! Personally not a fan of the berry/plum shades in the line, hah

Yay you got a topshop blush! Wow, it is suprisingly close to Intonation...dupe alert? Perhaps flushed is a tad more pink. The Clinique blushes are so stinking cute I could die, need to have a swatchy swatch!

I'm surprised I managed to find this shade, and it is quite close to Intonation! Intonation is a touch redder though, but pigmentation is nowhere near Chanel's.

  18. I've been guilty about hoarding blushers and lipsticks for spring...this post just gave me some dangerous inspiration! I think I'm doing this because I desperately want it it to be spring and we are just not getting that in North Carolina right now... like today, we had an awful snow/ice storm and the entire town lost power all day (no computer all day= one of the most challenging days of mah life!)...but it's going to be 70 degrees all weekend... and it's been like this for the last two months :/...we need to get out shit together!!!

  20. You have enough blushes to last you a lifetime, Vanessa! And even pass on some to your future or daughter-in-law if there isn't an expiry date to make up. They are so pretty to look at and as you know me, I couldn't bear to brush embossing away too! It's just too pretty! I'm also into coral shade coz I'm a little bit on the autumn side and I read that corals are good. Guava blush? Did you pick that up coz of the significance of the name?

Oooh... I need to let you know something about the (stupid) rafflecopter for my giveaway. Lemme copy, paste and edit a little of my reply here:
Vanessa! You know what? I also thought of you as I was typing out "citron" in this post the other time! Lol... Thanx for your reply on the Rafflecopter problem. I tried each time I used my laptop on Chorme, IE, Safari, Firefox and I cleared all cache for all browsers thinking that could work as the clearing and using of different browser did work for other stuff but it's still the same problem for Rafflecopter. I tried the exporting too and they did send me an exel file for gibberish! I'm so peeved that I've to trouble all participants to re-enter again... That said... I shall repeat the same para to all participants:

Please note that I have removed the Rafflecopter widget due to a technical fault of not being able to retrieve your data. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Could you please enter following my updated instructions? Thanx a lot!
